Executive Director

Karla Lutisha McCullough is a native of Jackson, MS. She received her bachelor’s degree from the prestigious Tuskegee University in Psychology. She subsequently obtained her master’s degree in Public Administration from Auburn University Montgomery with dual concentrations in Public Policy and Healthcare. She currently serves as the President of Sims Group of America, Incorporated, where she develops strategic plans to advance the company's mission and determines objectives to promote profitability and growth of its infrastructure. This position also allows her to oversee company operations ensuring efficiency, quality and cost-effective management of its resources and services. Karla is also the Executive Director of the Juanita Sims Doty Foundation where she acts as the executor of its goals and objectives, enabling the Board of Directors to fulfill its governing functions. In this position, she also provides direction and leadership applicable to the realization of the organization's philosophy consistent with the values and standards set forth by the foundation. Karla has worked the majority of her career with the upscale retail chain Coldwater Creek where she was the Visual Design and Merchandising Manager for both the Southern and Northwestern districts. She traveled the United States utilizing the retail store design aspects to maintain brand consistency through the medium of visual merchandising. Karla also trained Coldwater Creek visual teams on the creation and delivery of store-specific presentations based on geographical location and clientele. In doing so, she has never veered from her personal principles rooted in community service. She has volunteered in many areas including, the International Community Ambassadors Network (I!CAN), Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority Inc., Hosea feed the Hungry and the Homeless, the Mississippi Club of Denver, and Habitat for Humanity. As Karla has traveled from Mississippi to Atlanta to Denver and back home again, she has maintained her foundation in church, family and serving those in need.
